Responsibilities:

  1. Material Handling:
    • Assist in loading and unloading plumbing materials, tools, and equipment at the job site.
    • Transport materials to different areas of the work site using hand trucks, forklifts, or other appropriate equipment.
  2. Assisting Plumbers:
    • Support licensed plumbers with various tasks, such as cutting, threading, and assembling pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
    • Hand tools, materials, and equipment to plumbers and assist with measuring, cutting, and positioning components.
  3. Pipe Installation and Repair:
    • Dig trenches and excavations for underground pipe installation and repair under the supervision of a plumber.
    • Assist with the installation of pipes, valves, fittings, and fixtures for water, gas, drainage, and sewer systems.
  4. Pipe Inspections and Testing:
    • Assist with inspecting and testing plumbing systems to identify leaks, blockages, or other issues.
    • Help with pressure testing, leak detection, and pipe flushing as directed by licensed plumbers.
  5. Cleanup and Maintenance:
    • Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure a safe and organized job site.
    • Assist with the cleanup and disposal of debris, waste materials, and hazardous substances according to safety protocols.
  6. Safety Compliance:
    • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site.
    • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and use safety harnesses and fall protection gear when working at heights.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; previous experience in plumbing or a related field is beneficial but not required.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labor tasks and work in various weather conditions.
